Workshop sessions take place in the Società Filarmonica, located at the Piazza Santa Chiara. The morning session, which begins at 9:30, will be broken into two parts, the first being intensive vocal work with Bronislawa, always a unique and powerful experience. The second part of the morning, Brian offers clinics that focus on ensemble building; this session ends at 1:00.
Lunch break from 1:00-2:30.
The afternoon session begins at 2:30, and consists of rehearsals with Simon, and a planned group activity after rehearsal concludes. Planned recreational and educational activities include an introductory walk around Sarteano, market day, a pizza party and afternoon swim in local thermally fed pools, and guided tours of Sarteano's Castle, Teatro, and Museo Civico Archeologico di Sarteano.
The final concert will be conducted by Simon, and will be held in the magnificent Il Teatro Comunale degli Arrischianti a Sarteano on 18 July. This event is free and open to the public.
Auditions
After you have mailed in your application, please return, and CLICK HERE to fill out a short form with your name, phone number and email, so that we can let you know if your audition materials were not received.
You may send in a tape/CD/DVD or video of your audition.
- Starting on a pitch in the the middle of your range, sing a one octave major scale upward to
your highest comfortable note. You may use any vowel or solfège, if you prefer. Repeat the
procedure from mid-range down to your lowest comfortable note.
- Perform an art song, aria or folk song. (accompanied)
- Perform your national anthem (unaccompanied) in your native language. Please label all audition materials with your name, voice part and phone number.
Notification of Acceptance
You will be notified of your acceptance within 1-2 weeks after receipt of your audition materials. Upon acceptance into the program, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know whether you will be attending, as we need to balance the ensemble.
